Privacy Policy

This policy explains what SRM Nursing Tutor collects, why we collect it, who can see it, and how you get rid of it. We have tried to describe what the app actually does rather than reserve every right we could.
Who we are
SRM Nursing Tutor ("the app", "we") is a nursing exam preparation app for NORCET, NCLEX-RN and state nursing officer exams. For anything in this policy, contact srmnursingtutor@gmail.com.
What we collect

Information created as you study
Your progress has to be stored somewhere for the app to be useful. We keep:
- Which questions you answered, what you chose, whether it was right, and how long you took
- Tests you have sat and their scores
- Bookmarked questions, personal notes you write on questions, and recently viewed questions
- Study-planner tasks you create, and the days you studied
- Aggregate study statistics — questions solved, accuracy and streak
Information collected automatically
- Device sessions. When you sign in we record the device platform and a device identifier, so you can see where your account is signed in and sign other devices out.
- Analytics. The app includes Google Firebase Analytics, which automatically records app-level events such as first open, session start and app version, together with your device model and operating system version. It is keyed to a random app-instance identifier and is not linked to your account, so it cannot be joined to your name, your email or your answers.
What we do not collect
- We do not ask for or store patient data. Please do not put any in your notes.
- We do not collect your contacts, photos library, precise location or microphone.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
- We do not use an advertising identifier. The app does not request one, and it shows no advertising.
- We do not send push notifications. The app has no push messaging in it, so no notification token exists or is stored. The notification preferences in Settings are saved for when that is built, and nothing is delivered today.
Who processes your data
The app runs on Google Firebase (Google LLC), which provides authentication, the database, hosting and analytics. Your data is stored on Google's infrastructure and handled under Firebase's privacy terms. If you sign in with Google, Google authenticates you and tells us your email address and name.
We do not have any other third-party processors. We do not transfer your data to anyone else except where the law requires it.
Security
- All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Server-side security rules mean your study data, notes and bookmarks are readable and writable only by your own signed-in account. Other users cannot read them.
- We never see your password — authentication is handled by Firebase.
- On Android, screenshots and screen recording are blocked inside the app to protect exam content.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been accessed by someone else, change your password and email us.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and study data for as long as your account exists. If you ask to delete your account it is kept for a further 30 days so you can change your mind — signing in again during that window cancels the deletion — and is then permanently removed, as described on the account deletion page. Aggregate analytics that cannot identify you may be retained.
Your rights
You can, at any time and from inside the app:
- See and edit your profile — Profile → Edit profile
- Clear your recent searches — Profile → Data & privacy
- Sign out other devices — Profile → Devices
- Turn off notifications — Profile → Notifications
- Delete your account and data — see Delete your account
To request a copy of your data, or to ask us to correct or erase something, email srmnursingtutor@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
Children
The app is intended for nursing students and qualified nurses, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
Payments
The app does not currently take payments. If paid plans are introduced, this policy will be updated before any payment feature goes live, and card details would be handled by the payment provider — never stored by us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
